Cubot
CUBOT was described as a modular toy system for young children, with blocks that rotated or oscillated. Connecting the blocks produced different collective motion behaviors.
Blocks that create motion together
The concept joins assembly with visible consequences. It gives a historical example of a system whose behavior emerges from how pieces are combined. A connection becomes more than a way to hold blocks together; it changes what the assembled toy can do.
