What is parktree community health center?
When it comes to community health centers, we have to look beyond the obvious. Parktree Community Health Center is one of only three in the country. That provides primary and pediatric care for the uninsured. A few times a year they hold a medical walk-through to educate the public on non-essential medical issues.
You can actually visit the free site to see the walk-through schedule. I know that sounds like a long read. But I’m sure you’re wondering why you would need to go to the site to talk about the health center. Well, if you are a reader, here’s the answer. The site is part of an initiative called The Health Center Alliance, which is a project of the Parktree Foundation.
What are the tweets about?
Like most of the other walk-throughs, this one is a bit more of a “you can’t go there” type of thing. But I thought it was interesting when I read the tweets that the tweeters were all saying the same thing: “I’m going to try to go there tomorrow, but I can’t go if I don’t know the answer.” I know the answer to this question because I go to the health center for health care every year to check on my thyroid.
I would say that the whole concept of the health center, from the time I moved here in 2007 and the entire time I’ve been a Parktree customer, is a great way to support the health of the community and get the community involved in our own health care.
Since how long is this center there?
The health center has been in Parktree for 15 years. In addition to checking on the thyroid, the health center provides an emergency room, testing and medical appointments, and free cancer screenings. The health center has been especially successful this year, with more than $1 million in donations.
I know that I have been a member of the Parktree health center for over 13 years now, and I have to laugh every time I think about the staff and how everyone here is so dedicated to the health of our community. Their slogan is “People matter more than anything.
