What is nemco food warmer?
Sometimes, while cooking something we don’t really enjoy, we just end up eating more of it than usual. That’s actually called a ‘nemco food warmer’. The idea is that the more often you eat something in response to a stimulus – especially when you’re trying to avoid an unwanted reaction – the more you’re going to have it.
The basic idea is that when you eat in response to an unpleasant sensation, you are also eating it in response to a less unpleasant sensation. But in the case of nemco food warmers the two sensations are completely opposite. So, if you eat something and start getting headache. You are trying to avoid the pain and you are eating because it feels good. If you eat something and you get headache. Also you are eating it in response to the pain.
What mistakes do they do?
The first mistake we’ve found is when a person eats too quickly, like too quickly. It gets a headache. This is usually what happens when our body goes into fight or flight mode. The brain is telling us something is not right and needs to be quelled. The body is telling us this is not a good idea. So it’s telling us to delay the pain-in-the-head feeling until we can figure out what’s causing it.
For what it is worth, I think the first mistake would be to eat too quickly. I think the second mistake would be to not eat too fast and get a headache.
How is our body designed?
It is a fact that our bodies are designed to have a resting cycle. The brain is designed to shut down between “meal” times so that the body can rest, recover, re-energize, and grow new cells to replace those that have been burnt out. But it takes a lot of energy to be sitting in a chair when you are trying to eat and is going to take a lot of energy to get up and move around after you are done eating.
That energy is lost when you eat too fast and you get a headache. Because your body is designed to have a resting cycle that eats you up to the point of being a zombie, you won’t get much rest. You will probably want to eat and eat and eat. But you won’t get much sleep because you will be moving so much, so while you are eating you will be working so hard in the end that it will be harder for you to sleep.
